Malapit na Pasko. Remember last year? Never again. So I'm preparing gifts na. Unahin ko na sa list si TheHusband.
He has a thing for Rayban shades. As in. Kaso naiwala nya yung isang pair nya, mind you, he lost the entire package: shades+case+fabric cleaner. *Ang swerte ng nakapulot!* That was years back, when he was still working in Parañaque.
What did I say earlier? That he has a thing for Rayban shades. So he bought another pair. Same design lang. Last year, during preparation for Halloween sa office, nabitawan nya sa isang table. The entire package uli: shades+case+fabric cleaner. Pagbalik nya, wala na. Obviously, may numakaw. Grrrrrr...freaking thieves.
Tangent thought: When I was working at the same company in Parañaque, I used to hide my bottle of Clinique Happy Heart sa loob ng spine ng binder. [It was a huge binder.] I love Happy Heart kasi I was using that scent around the time I gave birth to Sharkteeth. And the scent reminds me of the happiness her birth brought. Aba, may numakaw! Akalain nyo yun? Tagong-tago nakita pa rin. Freaking thieves! May isa pang "perfume story" sa office na iyon, but I'd rather not kwento it anymore kasi (1) it was soooooooooooo disgusting, (2) I know the victim, and (3) I have no way of verifying the truth.
Anyhoo, ang haba na ng tangent thought ko. :)
So malamang TheHusband will be getting a pair of Rayban shades this Christmas. It's alright -- he doesn't read my blog. May element of surprise pa rin. Hehehehe. I've been looking through Ray Ban Wayfarers at Zalora, 'cause last August, I purchased something from them and I was extremely pleased. Brief kwento: I received my payment from an online survey company, and I have a personal tradition of buying a little something whenever I finish a job with a particular company/client. It was so little lang naman. Like 15 dollars. Anyway, I bought a gold Ezra watch with pink nylon strap from Zalora. It was discounted at around 500 pesos or so. Sobrang cheap, right? So cheap that I wasn't expecting anything pretty. You can imagine my delight when it was delivered the next day. I was on my way to pick up Sharkteeth and nakasalubong ko lang yung courier. Eh wala akong EQ. Nasa trike pa lang, binuksan ko na yung parcel and I was so happy because it was so pretty. Pink! Gold! Sobrang tuwang-tuwa ako and I was smiling by myself. Tapos akala nung katapat ko sa trike eh siya nginingitian ko. Smile din sya sa akin. Hahahaha!

You Had Me At Hello
![]() |
| Nine West Okeanos in pale pink |
Much as I don't wanna be posting purchases here (and yet, ironically, this is the second time in a row), there's a lesson to be learned, I swear. My closest friends and I met up for our annual, or so we say, Christmas get-together in Marquee Mall in Pampanga. Hindi kami natuloy nung 2012 kasi may isang nag-e-emote. For the record, and surprisingly, not me. Anyway, after we ate, which, by the way, was peppered with tons of laughter and risqué stories, we shopped a little (promise, ako little lang talaga). It was my first time in Marquee, and it's very pretty, pero ang daaaaamiiiingggg tao, as in...magpa-Pasko kasi nun. Tangent thought: Most of the women and girls I saw were toting Coach bags. As in! What's up with that? Is there some sort bag uniform among Pampanguenas? Or may Coach store dun? What? Anyhoo, we were about to leave when I saw this pair of Nine West ballet flats. I immediately fell in love with the color, design, and style. The pair was PHP4520, from PHP5650. Not bad, right? And the shoes are made of leather, with rubberized soles for increased traction, and God knows I need traction. Lampa! Hahahaha! I was a bit disappointed when I tried them on because my toe cleavage showed, and I really don't like revealing my toe cleavage -- I'm modest that way. Hahahahahahaha! So I didn't get the shoes. The thing is, I kept on remembering it...the very nice shade of pink...the very charming flowers. Mag-nu-New Year na, naaalala ko pa rin. My conundrum must have bugged TheHusband too much and he offered to buy them for me. Hindi pa rin ako sold. The idea of exposing my toe cleavage really bothered me. "BUT THEY ARE SO PRETTY!", my heart screamed. And I gave in, with the proviso that they must be on sale. And, post-Christmas/New Year, indeed, they are! At 45% off! Which brings the price down to PHP3100+. Wow. Just wow. My good friend did the purchasing and sent them here in Dumaguete. So happy. Never mind that my feet are so lewd now. Hahahaha! Gosh, I totally forgot. THANK YOU, THEHUSBAND!
So what's the lesson? After-Christmas/New Year sales are worth waiting for. So next Christmas, dear friends, sa January ko na papadala gifts ko sa inyo. :)

Huwag N'yo Uling Basahin, Corny Na Naman
I mentioned to Sharkteeth that I have cold and fever, and she said, "Mymy, kukuha ako ng towel na malamig tapos lagay ko sa head mo ha? Para di ka na lagnatin. Aalagaan kita" [Mymy, I'm gonna get you a cold towel and put it on your head. So you won't have fever anymore. I'm gonna take care of you].
So tell me, how can I not spoil her like I do when she is incredibly sweet and caring?
Tangent thought: There this shop in Glorietta that I frequent for its uber-cheap but high-quality notebooks, sketchbooks, diaries, candles, gawd, I even bought a leatherbad bag [leather bad seems awfully kinky, right?] tag for a mere hundred pesos few years ago! Imagine, a lined leather, as in smell-it-it's-really-leather-the-cows-must-be-fuming-mad, hardbound notebook selling for a bit less than 500 pesos! I can go on and on.

Gone...Gone...Gone
Terribly sorry for the deleted post last night, but I'm more sorry if you did read the post. Calling it mediocre would be a compliment, and you, dear readers (ehem, more than one na!), deserve better. I don't know if I have mentioned this, but I turn crazy, or maybe just a notch crazier, when I'm sleepy, and I badly need to sleep, preferably somewhere near the beach or some pine trees, hence the rambling post. Whatever. So there. That post might see the light of day. Then again, it might not. See, I'm rambling again...cause I need to sleep.

Huwag N'yong Basahin, Corny!
TPS: [praying with Sharkteeth] Sana po gumaling na si Sharkteeth, di bale na pong ako ng magkasakit, huwag lang po si Sharkteeth.
[Please make Sharkteeth well. I don't mind getting sick, as long as it's not Sharkteeth.]
Sharkteeth: [prolonged gasp] Mymy, nooooo! Ayoko kang magkasakit. Love kita.
[Mymy, nooooo! I don't want you to get sick. I love you.]
Haaaaay, I love her so.
Tangent thought: During our wedding, when the priest asked my husband if he takes me as his lawfully wedded wife, yadda, yadda, yadda, TheHusband seemed so spaced out that he did not answer immediately and I had to nudge (more like elbowed!) him, and only then was he able to answer (correctly, if I may add). Either that or he was having cold feet. Mwahahaha! Too late.

I Heart Adverbs!
'Twas a terribly, horribly, freakingly fucking day at work!
No one to blame but myself though.
Tangent thought: I made a cup of cottage cheese last weekend. Cool, right?
