You know it's never good when a call is opened by, along with crying, "Mymy, please keep calm. Don't panic!"
I was on my way to pick up Sharkteeth when she called and asked me to come get her ASAP because she tripped while walking down the ramp and hurt herself. Imagining horrible scenarios, I was screaming and panicking, which made her cry even more. When I arrived at the school, she was alone and crying. She has a huge bump on the forehead and numerous abrasions on her arms. I wanted to bring her to the doctor, but she didn't want to. She's terrified of doctors and hospitals. Lagi kasing nagkakasakit, and her checkups turned to hospitalization one time too many. Si Dr. Mymy na lang ang nag-treat sa mga sugat. Which took, like, two hours kasi takot sya sa Betadine. I was rolling my eyes na. "Mymy! Stop rolling your eyes! Can't you see I'm in pain?!" Soweeeeee....
She's okay now.
I'm not. Napakahirap maging nanay. I don't think I would ever stop worrying about her. Every little cut, every little bump, every little sadness hurts me hundred times over. If only I can kiss away the hurts like when she was a baby. And she's not exactly the dainty sort. One time I kept looking for her around the campus grounds but couldn't find her. Then across the basketball court, I saw a kid at the back of the basketball board. I thought, "Naaaah, it can't be Sharkteeth...that board is too high for her." It was Sharkteeth. Hay. I will always worry.

Sadness
Oh, hi, Internet! Remember me? Yes, I know, I know...it's been a long time, right? To say that the past month has been trying is a magnificent understatement; however, enumerating each of my "woes" isn't going to help one bit, so I rather not waste my barely there typing skills on that. But please bear with me as I'm going to relate something depressing. You see, a cousin of a cousin committed suicide by hanging himself last weekend. I don't know if it's because I was already in a bad place before hearing the news [key in ominous music: there was client feedback], but it really made me feel immensely sad...who wouldn't? I barely knew him...come to think of it, I'm not even sure of his name. It's just that hearing such a manner of death staggers me. To think, to feel, to believe that everything is hopeless, that death is preferable, nay, the best recourse is just so...SAD. I can't even begin to think what his parents are feeling right now. I don't really know why he did what he did, although my mom mentioned something about the bank taking their house and the rest of their properties and surely this kind of hopelessness is enough to push someone to suicide, all I can hope and pray is that he's in a better place right now and that his family will someday forget the pain.

Sickness, Sickness, And A Whole Lot of Sick
Daughter dear is recovering from a bout of stomach flu and I'm currently on health watch so strict I had to abruptly say goodbye to all food glorious and artery clogging. There. That's my reason for the very quiet blog. Yesterday, Sharkteeth woke up after her afternoon nap complaning of stomach cramps. After an hour or so, she started vomiting all over the place, which kinda relieved the stomach pain. But it got so bad that she threw up almost after she ingested anything, so food one minute, sick the next; water one minute, bile-looking fluid the next. She threw up so much that she got terrified, and I feared that she'd she'd stop taking in fluids. Good thing she didn't. By 2 pm, the vomiting abated and I dozed off, leaving TheHusband to watch over stinky Sharkteeth. I didn't even notice that Sharkteeth twice went to the toilet to make "no. 2," which banished those damned viruses for good, thank you very much. It was heartbreaking to see her in pain, and I'm so glad she's okay now.
And no, I won't even go into mine. You don't want a sob story of a through-and-through "meatatarian," "chocolatarian," "coffeetarian," and all-around sloth turning her back on all the food she loves and hauling off her ass to exercise. Sob. Sob.
I don't want to leave you feeling down, so let me leave you with an example of the fantastic training (read: brainwashing) I did on Sharkteeth.
Sharkteeth: Mymy, pwedeng story-han mo ako? [Mymy, could you tell me a story?]
Mymy: Sure, but say the magic word. [Thinking please.]
Sharkteeth: [brows knitting, thinking deeply] Uhm, sexy Mymy*?
Sharkteeth: [brows knitting, thinking deeply] Uhm, sexy Mymy*?
See, great training, right? Right?
*Yes, this phrase needs not only italicization but also boldface for emphasis. Deal with it.

No Fairy Tale
Remember this? There's no happily ever after for them, at least not with each other. According to Reuters, But after finding each other, appearing on TV and getting international press, the couple took their romance out of the public eye, with Moberg closing down the Web site and with both refusing to making any more comments -- until now.Oh well. Must be the blue gym shorts with blue tights. Either that or he's allergic to pollen.
Hayton told Australian newspaper The Sunday Telegraph that she dated
Moberg for about two months but it just didn't work out.

I'm So Lungkot...So, So Lungkot
Sharkteeth is with my parents, and no one is
- kicking me on the chin at the middle of the night
- sassing me, hence, I'm not getting any practice at "claw sharpening"
- greeting me a sunshiny "Good morning!" and asking me if she can drink coffee
- asking me to buy quail eggs, DVDs, lemons (probably mangoes), scooter, yes, scooter!, mocha cookies from every store we pass by, etc
- stealing my double-sided tape and PostIts
- pleading with me not to go to work and to just play with her all day, although playing is a very loose term that might mean running after and picking up the ball, letting her hide in a box and feigning surprise when she pops out (hopefully not a foreboding of future "profession"), running after her while she bikes, whatever
- lying her head on my thighs and just being plain malambing
- hugging me tight till I almost choke
- giving me those freakishly tiny weed flowers plucked while walking 'round the village
- poking me on my blubbery belly and saying, "Ang taba-taba mo na, Mymy!"
- insisting that she is Dora and I am Boots, and with the size disparity totally lost on her
- asking me to tell her stories about Belle, Aurora, and Cinderella and their respective princes; Bear-Bear and how he became hers; the hammer, saw, nails, wood, and other hardware supplies escaping at midnight and going to a bar, getting drunk and carousing till morning and showing up late at the hardware store the next day hung over and bleary eyed (you should totally hear this one!)

I Heart Adverbs!
'Twas a terribly, horribly, freakingly fucking day at work!
No one to blame but myself though.
Tangent thought: I made a cup of cottage cheese last weekend. Cool, right?
