Back To The Grind

It's tea o'clock!
Walang lang. Mema.
Pasukan na naman. I'm still adjusting to Sharkteeth's early schedule. The latest I've tried was chicken piccata. Hehehe. Any suggestions?

Maalala ko. I had a nightmare minsang madaling-araw. I was exorcising evil spirits daw. *Delusion of grandeur na naman ako.* I got scared a bit kasi saktong alas-tres ng madaling araw. Paggising ko, I felt itchy all over. So I'm guessing the evil spirits I was exorcising were actually mosquitoes feasting on my fat, juicy flesh. Or could it be that I'm the Slayer? Ah, I forgot that bit about being "young". Okay, fine, not the Slayer then.

Anyhoooo...

Pagdating ko kahapon sa school, I saw S, luhaan. I worriedly asked her why. Pinapanood daw sila ng teacher ng Hachikō. Nasabay pa sa early stages ng cold. Hayun, malungkot na malungkot ang bebeh gherl. She wanted to hug Kelly daw.

Sharkteeth:  [shaking a can with coins] Palimos po...
Me: Why?
Sharkteeth:  I need to save money to buy a book.
Me: [jokingly] Go ask your classmates for 1 peso each everyday.
Sharkteeth: Nooooooo...
Me: Hehehe, that's extortion.
Sharkteeth: Of course not, there's no threat. YET.

O baboosh muna. S has cough and colds. Saka slight fever. Medyo naglalambing. Will post my flea market find next time -- a structured Gucci bag.

Kwentuhan Pa More

More tired and beaten in spirit than Cersei walking naked on the streets of King's Landing. It was emotionally draining. Maraming namatay. There were more questions than answers, and having to wait for 10 months is unbearable. Meganon? Speaking of questions, haven't you wondered why Cersei's "carpet" didn't match the "drapes"? Or why she even has "carpeting" for that matter? I mean, there was a scene in season 2 (or was it season 3) where Bran's wildling yaya (Osha?) seduced Theon (or was it his guard?) and she had what seemed like a Brazilian, and now here's the queen mother, as bushy as the Amazon.

Weekend Report

*Sigh* Isang workweek na naman ang nakaraan. Ewan ko ba, I feel so tired. Kasi naman, bukod sa work, may housework pa, plus we have a new pet. Happily, Sabado na bukas!!! Finally, I can wake up late. Sana. Sana 10 hours of sleep. Sana quiet ang aking mga sintunadong neighbors. Sana hindi makulit yung hamster. Sana, sana, sana...

Oh, before I forget, meet Sir Ham Sandwich Kensington (aka Bacon), Sharkteeth's reward for learning how to swim freestyle.

He's so adorable -- we're all crazy over the little critter. We have yet to buy a "proper" house for him, and he's getting bored and tired of his tiny cage. He loves lettuce and Nutella. He's not as gluttonous as my beloved hammie (RIP), who used to stuff so much food in his buccinator that his face often looked like an angry puffed-up cobra. Bacon is a bit more moderate in his food intake. But he's so malikot -- ilang beses na syang nahulog dahil sa sobrang kalikutan.

TheDog is annoyed, understandably. He's trying to hide his annoyance by putting up a façade of indifference, but I caught him a couple of times eyeing the rodent with evil eyes. And he was licking his lips!!! Kulang na lang eh magpahid ng laway. Good luck naman kay Bacon. Hahahaha!

♥♥♥

It was a pretty hectic week for S. It's math and science week, may Girl Scout training, and sandamakmak ang assignments and projects. Sa totoo lang, I don't want to help her in her projects kasi baka maging dependent. Usually, I just give ideas and siya nag-e-execute. Kaso with the Girl Scout training, early evening na kami dumarating sa bahay, leaving us only a couple of hours to eat and do the assignments. So, much as I don't want to, I'm "helping" her na nga sa projects, and ilang projects ko, este ni S, ang 10/10!!! Hahahaha! May project pa sila where they will sew paper clothes and model them.

TPS:  So what dress are you gonna model?
Sharkteeth: I'm not going to model one. I'll help in the production.

TPS:  Why? Join ka na! Sayang naman. Please?
Sharkteeth: I don't know... [long pause] I find it UNDIGNIFIED.
TPS: ... [tameme]

"Undignified"? How can you argue with that?

When I was a bit younger, I liked watching beauty contests and didn't see anything wrong with it. Didn't see how sexist or demeaning it is. Pero nung magka-anak ako, I started feeling like the women in beauty contests are being treated like meat. Karne sa palengke. So I completely understood when S said that it is undignified. Kaya hindi ko na pinilit pa.

♥♥♥

I have a couple of "sewing" projects to finish myself, and I'll try to share the process and output with you. Sana may time...

We have a scheduled power interruption on Sunday, and I'm actually looking forward to it. Without electricity, I might be able to do my analog stuff. :) So may napipintong cleaning, reorganization, and redecoration sa bahay. Wish me luck! :)

Flatlining! 360 Joules! Stat!

It's that time of the year again, dear parents. Enrollment season. Last time I checked, DearWallet is still in the ICU and is comatose. The prognosis is bad. Projected recovery is October pa. Hay.

While the tuition fee is lower this year, school expenses shot up because of the school's migration to ebooks. While paper books are still an option, TheHusband and I figured there's no point in stalling. Besides, it's a lot of weight off Sharkteeth's back, literally. Nagkakandakuba yun sa pagbubuhat ng books. So off I purchased an iPad. Pikit-mata! Ang mahaaaaaal. I hope S will take care of it. *Please, please, please, S.*

I'm almost through with the back-to-school shopping, thanks to good ole National Bookstore. She'll be using her Cath Kidston bag, so I don't have to purchase a new bag anymore. Got her shoes when we went to Cebu. Ang daming affordable choices sa Payless! Ang cute pa. These shoes' model is S' namesake. :)

I used to get so excited going back to school because it meant new bags, new shoes, new everything, and I love the smell of books covered with plastic. S, however, isn't particular with those things. It doesn't matter to her if I don't buy her a new bag or a new pencil case and what-nots. But then, unlike me who used to only get those new stuff at the start of schoolyear, S gets new things throughout the year, and sometimes I feel that she doesn't really fully appreciate them as much as I did when I was a student. I hope that with me trying to lessen our frivolous purchases, I would be able to teach her the value (and "nonvalue") of things.
